The University of Twente is technology-driven public research university, ranked in the Top 220 of best universities in the world. One of the Netherland’s most entrepreneurial universities, Twente distinguishes itself through the impact it creates on society through the transfer of scientific knowledge and the number of spin-off companies.

It offers degrees in social sciences and exact sciences, and is highly specialized in engineering with many of its work defining the future in ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), biotechnology and nanotechnology.

One of the UT’s crown jewels, without doubt, is its campus: a breath-taking and sustainably managed parkland of 146 hectares dotted with state-of-art facilities – from libraries and laboratories to cultural and sports facilities. Location

The city of Enschede, located in the east of the Netherlands near the German border is colourful and compact.

One out of three inhabitants is a student. The city boasts bustling markets and shopping streets, cinemas, theatres and well-tended parks  – in fact, it is one of the greenest cities in the Netherlands with a 52-kilometre walking and cycling route winding through its green belt, but its student population gives the city its unique flair. The centre of student life is undoubtedly the University of Twente’s unique campus.

Scholarships and Funding

The University of Twente has various funding and scholarship arrangements in place for international students. Scholarships may be offered by the university itself, some by the Dutch Government, whilst others are country-specific scholarships or study loans, part of an agreement with funding bodies across Latin America.
