Development Studies MA
Ranked 1st in the world for Development Studies in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2018.
Develop the analytical and practical skills required to address some of today’s most pressing global challenges including inequality, sustainability and security. Based at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), you’ll learn how to approach development problems with creativity, confidence and the ability to work collaboratively. You’ll develop an understanding of the main debates in development, and engage in informed and critical ways with professionals from diverse backgrounds.
- Anthropology of Development and Social Transformation MA
Sussex is an internationally recognised centre for teaching and research in international development in the UK. Sussex Anthropology pioneered the anthropological critique of development. We examine the impact of economic and social change on local practices, meanings and identities. This MA has a strong focus on issues of anthropological engagement, development policy and activism. It’s for you if you have experience, or are considering a career, in the development field.
