Location
Stirling’s beautifully preserved Old Town is a treasure trove of historic buildings and cobbled streets winding up to the ramparts of its impressive castle, which offer views for miles around.
Clearly visible is the brooding Wallace Monument, a strange Victorian Gothic creation honouring the legendary freedom fighter of Braveheart fame. Nearby is Bannockburn, scene of Robert the Bruce’s pivotal triumph over the English in 1314. Located at the geographic heart of Scotland, its focal point is the medieval castle perched high above the city. The city is a thriving, compact and welcoming community offering great shopping, café culture, performing arts, nightlife and the great outdoors.
The city of Stirling lights up at night, and many pubs, clubs and bars gear themselves towards students. Traditional pubs provide quieter alternatives, with open fires, real ale and folk music.
Scholarships and Funding
The University of Stirling has various funding and scholarship arrangements in place for international students. Scholarships may be offered by the university itself, some by the British Government, whilst others are country-specific scholarships or study loans, part of an agreement with funding bodies across Latin America.
